Marcus, 1944

Description
Small worms. Prostomium roundish, broader than the subsequent segments. Well developed, triangular lateral sensory pits communicating with ventral ciliar field in their anterior end, while another angle expands to dorsal side of prostomium. Cutaneous glands red or brownish red, numerous, of variable size. Two kinds of chaetae. Sigmoid chaetae, finely serrated on the concave side of their distal portion, by 1-2, together with hair chaetae or (posteriorly) without them in many ventral bundles; blunt-tipped, 28-40 µm long. Hair chaetae thin and flexible, slightly bayonet-shaped in their proximal portion, 0-7 per bundle, in two lengths: longer chaetae 70-110 µm, shorter ones 30-70 µm. Length of a chain of up to 6 zooids, up to 3 mm, length of the first zooid 0.8-1 mm, width about 0.1 mm, segment number of the first zooid 6-8. Differing from the other European red congeners with blunt sigmoid chaetae, in the serration of concave side of the latter.
