Description
Medium-sized tubificids with small secretory papillae and circlets of prominent sensory papillae. Hair and pectinate chaetae present dorsally, bifid crotchets ventrally; no modified genital chaetae. Differing from the other papillate genera of tubificids, besides the anatomy of reproductive system, also in presence of very large sensory papillae; from Embolocephalus and Haber, as well as in lack of modified genital chaetae.
Burrowing in sediment.

Reproduction
Sexual only. Eggs laid in cocoons.
