Aeolosoma hyalinum

Description
Small worms. Prostomium roundly triangular, distinctly broader than subsequent segments. Ciliated field restricted to ventral side. Sensory pits dorsolateral, large and roundish. Cutaneous glands either colourless and equipped with satellite cell, or completely invisible. Hair chaetae only, straight with slightly curved proximal portion, of two different lengths, 100-130(140) and 40-95 µm, 2-5(6) per bundle, less in posterior segments. A chain of 2-4 zooids up to 2 mm long and 0.08-0.13 mm wide; the first zooid 0.5-1.6 mm long and consisting of 8-11 segments. Differing from another colourless species with only hair chaetae, Aeolosoma niveum, in larger segment number and in presence of hair chaetae of two different lengths.

Asexual reproduction by paratomy (budding) prevailing. Maturing seldom.
