Description
Small worms. Prostomium roundish, broader than the subsequent segments. Cutaneous glands yellowish orange, evenly distributed. Chaetae of two kinds. Sigmoid chaetae about 75 µm long, with 4-5 very fine denticles on convex side of distal portion, present only in posterior bundles, by 1-2. Hair chaetae slightly curved, longer ones 2-3 per bundle, 130-200 µm long; shorter hair chaetae by 3-5, 40-120 µm long. Length up to 2-3 mm, width 0.13-0.18 mm, segment number of the first zooid 10. Differing from Aeolosoma evelinae in the dentition of convex side of sigmoid chaetae, and from Aeolosoma psammophilum, displaying similar sigmoid chaetae, in longer chaetae and in a different colour of cutaneous glands.
