Description
Small smooth, pink worms, without any hair and pectinate chaetae. Anterior ordinary chaetae 2-6 per bundle, 24-48 µm long, with equal short teeth. Single thin spermathecal chaetae (sometimes lacking) in ventral bundles of X, 41-53 µm long, with fine groove in its distal portion. Thick-walled and mushroom-shaped penial sheaths in XI, as long as their maximum width, with both ends expanding. Dark chloragogen tissue on oesophagus from V or VI on. Length 6-8 mm, segment number 33-48. In freshwater, rare.
Burrowing in sediment.
