Description
Small naidids with numerous large hair chaetae and small simple-pointed needle chaetae in dorsal bundles beginning from VI. A tendency towards loss of ventral bundles in IV-V, and appearance of giant ventral chaetae in some subsequent bundles, expressed to a different degree in different species. In mature individuals, male pores and penial chaetae in VI. The name Vejdovskyella was coined by Michaelsen, 1903b, instead of the preoccupied Bohemilla Vejdovsky, 1884a.
Distribution
Holarctic; Sino-Indian Region.
Ecology
In freshwater.
Reproduction
Mostly asexual, by paratomy (budding). Mature individuals and sexual reproduction rare or seasonal.
