Trichodrilus tenuis

Description
Small worms. Prostomium with rounded end. External secondary annulation beginning from III. Chaetae two per bundle, sigmoid with nodulus, simple-pointed, 64-77 µm long. Male pores in X on small porophores, spermathecal pores in XI and XII. Pharyngeal glands in IV-VI. Chloragogen tissue on oesophagus beginning from VI. Atria with ovoid ampulla and short duct, terminating in small penis. Two pairs of spermathecae with long ovoid ampulla and short narrow duct. The studied incomplete individuals were >4 mm long and about 0.2 mm wide, segment number >25. Differing from congeners in the combination of the internal characters, as well as in having a particularly thin body.
Burrowing in sediment.

Germany, Austria, Morocco.

Ecology
In freshwater, groundwater.

Reproduction
Sexual only. Eggs laid in cocoons.
