Description
Small to medium-sized pink tubificids, with smooth or rough body surface. In dorsal bundles, hair chaetae and bifid crotchets (without any intermediate teeth). Ventral chaetae bifid, too. Bundles of modified penial chaetae in XI. Coelomocytes present. An internal character not observed in any other genus of Tubificidae: spermathecae connected with oesophagus.
Burrowing in sediment.

Europe, Lake Baikal.

Ecology
In freshwater.

Reproduction
Sexual only. Eggs laid in cocoons.
